Holy Crap! What's going on with this stuff? I can't believe the prices they are selling for. I saw one the other day. A dogeared piece of leather, that resembled a holster went for over $300.

Ron, it's all being manipulated by Tom A. He's kinda like the Hunt Brothers of Luger Leather.

hehehe...
As I dominate the Navy guns, I shall soon dominate all leather.

Damn, that has a certain *kinky* ring to it.

Why didn't someone from the Forum question this? But then are we e-bay "police"? Did I miss something....how does one come off calling the magazine "Krieghoff" proofed?

If you go back to the ad, you will notice that, in the "small" print, at the bottom, that was added later, a correction was made - sort of. If a complaint by the buyer is made, the seller can always point to that addition and say that it is obvious that mags with the e/63 marking are regular military and not Kreighoff.

Default Fatal-Chili...

Why would anyone expect good judgement and common sense from the successful bidder that goes by the name of "fatal chili"...?

Jeez, I hope he ain't from Texas since that is the only place I know that makes chili hot enough to be fatal.

Well, not to help the seller, but the correction WAS made on the 19th and a correction can ONLY be made if there are no bids on e-bay. A question by a buyer can be made up to the last day and it will be added by the system if the seller wants it to.

Default e-Bay Retractions...

I have done 2-3 retractions of my bids on ebay...after my bids were placed and the seller adds info. (after my bid) that tended to change the item description and the value of an item.

Guess I was kinda right;

http://cgi5.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...=weimar_police

You may add to your item description if your item does not:

have a bid AND
end within 12 hours

Geo,
Pretty soon you'll need an armed guard just to transport them.

So it's Tom's fault? Curse you Tom the Tyrant!!!! And your.....Leather Domination??

Hi Ed,

Back to the holster on e-Bay...the seller added their revised info. on 12-19-04 at 17:45 Hrs. PST. At the time he/she revised the ad to correct for the HK magazine thing, bidding was already at $ 275 with 8 bids in...

So e-Bay may have that rule, but the sellers still change their ads all the time and I do not think e-Bay monitors that much...

The last bid I retracted was for a nice Swiss luger holster and strap originally described as both being dated 1909. After my bid and those of others went over $ 325, the ad was changed to state the holster was 1906 dated and the strap was 1909 dated. I retracted my bid which should have automatically reduced the bids back to before I entered my bids.

But one bidder (unfortunately a LF member from Belgium) had out bid me and others to get above the hidden reserve price of $ 375.00

For some reason and even with my bid retraction, the bidding stayed at $ 375 and our LF member got stuck "overpaying". I think when a bid is submitted that matches the reserve or higher, it is set in concrete even though bid retractions occur.

I contacted our LF member and suggested he might want to retract as well...but he decided he wanted the rig at the reserve price...

And with the USD-to-Euro exchange rate lately, he probably got a pretty good deal...

Regards,

Pete...

Pete, Once the reserve is met. It stays there. Found this out through experience.

Years back Tom A told me the most underpriced Luger accesory is the holster. Buy all you can. He is just following his own advice, and he already owns all of the navy leather :-)
