Swiss Magazines?
Are all Swiss and German magazines interchangeable? The later Swiss Lugers grip seems longer. Is it just an optical illlusion because the bump in the front is missing? Dumb question but I am new to Lugers. Thank you for your answers

Hi Paul,
I have placed my M1900/M906 Swiss insert magazines, my Swiss '24 Bern magazines and my M1929 Swiss Bern magazines in both DWM and Erfurt lugers. No problem. As a matter of fact, the Swiss insert magazines went with the DWM-made Swiss M1900 and M1906 lugers. I even use my M1929 Bern magazines (extras I have) in my DWM German shooters and they work fine. Once in a while a magazine will not quite seat fully into the frame...probably all needed some fitting where the magazine catch/release engages the notch cut-out of the magazine tube. Hope this helps. |

Pete took the long way around the answer Jayhawk21, but the short answer is that all magazines for original Lugers are interchangeable for both manufacturers and calibers ... including early stainless steel Mitchell and Stoeger branded Lugers....
all of them EXCEPT the latest model of stainless steel Lugers which use a proprietary magazine that is specific to the producer Orimar...
