Judging from the descriptions, it sounds like a typical force-matched DDR pistol. The frame with police markings is probably a lot earlier than the Mauser banner toggle / receiver. Normally the receiver is force matched to the original frame number.
Photos would help |

I have a VoPo refurb P38 that was 'dipped' [little or no buffing] and I think they did an excellent job on the re-blueing...but others have said theirs look like it was dipped in tar...

I would suggest passing it. $900 is not lots of money, but saving two $900 could buy a very nice Luger nowadays. For example, stainless Mitchell $650 + Vopo $900 = $1550, it's a very nice Luger's money.
=== Of course, if collecting VoPo, that's different story. I always feel that VoPo, Swiss etc are for advanced collectors, who already got other 'plain' stuffs, and need a place to expand their experience and collection.... For newcomers,,,, probably not. |

Since we are talking this,,,, if two 'shooters' are shootable individually, why one 'collectible' with equivalent value are not shootable? Collector may choose not shooting it, that's a personal choice.... but it's definitely shootable.

lugersrkewl,
Just curious. I bought the "lipstick looger" he had for sale a month ago. All told, I've bought two lugers and an early 1894 Winchester from Charlie over the past two years. He is easy to talk to on the phone (as opposed to the toaster?) and helpful. The products have been well described and generally better than expected. Good luck. I'd love to see it if'n you decide to get it. Just my $.02! Regards, John |

If seller is checkpointcharlies.com, things become simple. He can take the pictures and send to your email. You can ask him to give a text description as well. He's knowledgeable and honest.
