Default The number on the new thread

Is there any chance that the number of the thread could be changed from black on gray to white on gray? The # reference is white.
thanks
Jack

Jack, I am not sure what 'number' you are talking about?

John D could probably change the color of the text or fonts

Many times colors or variations of colors depends on your own monitor, I know when I hook up my computer to my HD TV it looks a lot different than my laptop monitor....

I think he is talking about the post number -- in the top right corner of each post in the thread. Not impossible, but certainly not easy to see on my monitors either... Not in my power to affect a change... That would be John D.

+ 1

You can link to the individual post rather than the entire thread by right clicking/Copy Link Location that number and pasting it in your thread/post...

Example -

http://forum.lugerforum.com/showpost...68&postcount=2

But it is really hard to see...And I bet there are some here who have never even noticed it...

I guess I don't understand 'why'? I just subscribe to the thread itself?

"Subscribe" or "Link"??? I'll assume you mean "Link"...

I guess that on this site, where threads are rarely more than 4 pages long, it isn't quite as important as some sites where threads are 16, 19, 28 pages long, like this one at ARFCOM -

http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_3_123/2...hread__2_.html

- Which is a picture thread 49 pages long...Your post could get lost very easily in that thread...And who would bother reading the whole thread to get to your post???

It may be that the OP wanted to link to a picture or text in a post in a certain thread here without making readers read the entire thread looking for the object of his link...

I just found out a few days ago that only members of this Forum can view links to this forum...I.E., members of ARFCOM who are not members here can't view a picture I had posted here and also posted a link to over in that Forum...

I'm just guessing; I have no idea what Jack is trying to do..."I don't know Jack!"...

It is called 'subscribing' to the thread and yes to the entire thread.

I have never had the desire or inclination to subscribe to a specific posting?

As an aside, So often folks read the last couple of postings; I find it a bit irritating that me or someone else already supplied the needed info and someone 3 pages later offers a off-base theory and its obvious that they never read the entire thread.

...???...When I 'subscribe' to a thread, I am notified of any additional posts. I have no idea what you are talking about.

I don't remember doing that, Ed, but if you can provide a link I'll take a look and see why I did it...

In front of this item there are 8 previous notations or whatever you want to call them. Those eight reference numbers on my computer screen are black numbers on a gray background and are difficult to make out.

Same here. And, like you said, the "#" is in white...So why not have the actual numeral in white???

It's the post number. of the thread...Here's a pic -
