Last Round Mis-Feeds: Repro Mag
My mis-matched P08 jams / mis-feeds the last round fairly consistently. I was at the range enjoying it yesterday. The mag I have is a repro; no idea the manfacturer.
I tweaked the top sides of the mag (decreased opening width) and the occurance was slightly less. Approx one fail to feed every 3 or 4 mags of 5 rounds each... I also lubed the mag spring with Remington spray. Any suggestions on how to get rid of this problem? (1) keep tweaking the mag I have, (2) get another repro mag? (3) get an original ? FYI - the last round pops up at an odd angle (45 deg) and the bolt jams trying to feed into the chamber... if this info helps with the diagnosis. BTW, I'm using FMJ 115 gr Winchester 9mm Luger ammo. Thanks for the help and advice. |

The first thing that I would do is purchase a Mec-Gar mag, for your Luger, and most likely your problem will disappear. Lugers can be very sensitive to (1) springs (2) mags (3) ammo.
If the feed lips on your mag have widened, they can be bent back, but usually will not hold the adjustment for very long. Having the feed lips correct is paramount!! |

In the accessory forum theres a post by G.T. about issues with weak springs in ebay repro mags. He says lugerdoc sells his replacement springs and theyre good to go. Jim

Agreed that last round feeding problems has just about got to be magazine related. Let the trial and error begin.

Thanks guys for your feedback. I will look into getting a replacement spring. Still on the hunt for an original mag too.
Any suggestions where to buy a Mec-Gar mag? |

Greg Cote LLC has the blued Luger Mec-Gar mags at a very good price. He is sold out of the polished model at this time. I have dealt with Greg many times, and you can purchase with confidence. |
