1935 Photo of Emperor of Ethiopia Haile Selassie's Son and Artillery Luger?
Just stumbled across this photo on eBay... It appears that the boy is being instructed on the use of an Artillery Model Luger... at least that is what the pistol appears to be to me...
Here is the auction link if anyone is interested... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Pres...8AAOSwXeJYJfDl

John,
I'm pretty sure it is a revolver; look at the shape of the end of the grip- and the cylinder. At least that is what I see.

Cool classy boots...if you own a horse. Highly impractical otherwise. As for me, I want one of those hats! LOL

Sigp, One reason the sale of "riding boots" is limited, most of us can't afford a valet to help get them on & off. TH

Another reason is that you can't just simply walk in any shoe store and find those boots - but women can. They will find at least 15 different models of similar high boots that draw direct lineage to those depicted in upper pic. But us, no F way, where do you find leather knee high hunting boots with rugged rubber sole in north America unless it is a special order?

The boots in the picture are riding boots, not walk around boots. Even though, if they are good and fit you properly, you can walk around all day long in them.

I know one of Haile Selassie's grandchildren. According to him, they were more into UZIs.

In 1973, I faced one of H.I.M.'s Airport guard's UZI's as I anxiously awaited the arrival of my family in Addis Ababa... they make a REALLY loud cocking sound that apparently comes through the enormous 9mm muzzle (at least it looks enormous when pointed at you)... Needless to say, I waited patiently for her and my son to clear customs rather than go in to help her with her bags as I had originally planned.
