If you go back to a thread in this section titled "Thumb Safety Lever Types" on 11-17-03, you will see the various types. Rick, There were 3 types of safety levers used on the M1900 lugers: earliest was flat checkered, contoured checkered and finally contoured with parallel grooves. The change over from one to another is a bit uncertain and certainly with some overlap. See Jone's "Luger Variations" pages 242 & 243 for best estimates. TH
