1937 HK Luger Question...
Very recently saw a 1937 HK luger with serial number # 59xx. (If anyone wants to know the full serial number and the selling dealer, send me a Private Message...)
From the serialization tables in the R. Gibson book on pages 73-75, shouldn't this luger be a 1936 (4-digit) ? I know HK was a bit sloppy with numbering, but I thought most 1937's spotted are in the early #6300 's and higher... I also realize a lot of HK's have surfaced since R. Gibson issued his book in 1980 and 1988... What think you HK experts out there...? Thanks in advanced for helping out this beginner... |

Pete,
Krieghoff serial numbers can be confusing as the dates/numbers tend to overlap. There would not be enough monetary gain to change a 1936 into a 1937. The gun is probably OK. |

Thanks, Brad for your feedback...
Serial nubmer sighted was # 5993 at ~ 94-95% condition; for those of you tracking HK luger sightings. Gun was sporting a pair of Ritzmann grips, as well. Asking price was $ 3,750.00... Pete <img src="graemlins/yltype.gif" border="0" alt="[typing]" /> |
