broken Stoeger Luger 22
I need to know how the sear works......the sear fits on the trigger and when the trigger is pulled, the sear moves, but it won't engage the hammer when cocked....how is the sear supposed to fit on the assembly? Thanks

By the sear spring, it holds tension on the sear, keeping it in place until you pull the trigger and force the sear out from under the hammer, causing the hammer too fall. If it is not engaging the hammer, there is no spring force/tension pushing it back in place, under the hammer as it where, and leaving the hammer at full ****. While I have worked on Stoeger Lugers at my shop for years, it is far more detail then I can type out here on how it all works, and two way shipping too repair you gun is not cost effective...try the Internet and see if you can find a detailed drawing on how the gun is put together, how parts inter face with each other and see if it helps you.
