To Purchase Swiss 7.65

I have been reading here for about 4 months and my eyes are getting tired. So much to read and so much to learn.
I belong to a Gun Club with approx 265 members and last summer while at the range, there were 8 members shooting there ( yes you guessed it Lugers ) Lugers.
Found that they go to range 3 or 4 times a month just to play with their Lugers. I was ask if I had ever owned a Luger (no) and would like to try one out. Yep I'll shoot anything that goes bang and when it's not my ammo it's all the better.
I got hooked. Had to have one. Won't buy something I know nothing about, so when to the internet and found this web-site.
OK, I now know very little about what to purchase, however I know I want a Swiss 7.65 as it was the most fun to shoot, the 9mm OK but I own 4 Walthers ( PP, PPK, PPK/S all 7.65 and TPH .22 ).
I would like a nice one with all matching numbers ( mag ? ) and know that some say to buy something in good condition but not
to purchase as a Collector Swiss.
I do not plan on being a Collector, but who knows.
Now the big question.
Where to buy that will have more than one so I can pick.

Simpson Known to be about 25% higher than most everyone else.
David Rachwal's Not had any experience with David.
Mr. Luger Do you mean Eugene Globustov? If this is Mr Luger then no..go somewhere else.
FGS Legacy Collectables A very reputable dealer. Known for straight dealing.
Gunbroker ( Probably not ) Don't discount looking for a pistol yourself. I have known of some deals on GB.
Don't forget about both Luger Forums. They have for sale sections too.You can also post a wanted to buy..
You might try Legacy Firearms. Or Joe Salter.
A shooter is going to be easiest..you might wet your beak on a shooter and look/study on a collector Luger.
Just ask if your potential shooter Luger shoots! The seller should assure you it has been tested. If not..stay away.

if you live anywhere near illinois state, this shop has the most swiss guns for sale in the usa. one day i hope to be able to visit in person too.

John, There are Swiss Lugers and there are commercial .30 Lugers..actually about one and the same. A German .30 is around $1200 for a nice one. If you add anything Swiss to that you will pay more. Just a thought.

John, mrluger (Walt Smeddy) is very reputable and is not the same as the Lugerman (Eugene) or me, the lugerdoc. I hope that your are not expecting a .30 Luger (7.65mmPara) pistol to use the same ammo as your .32acp (7.65mm Browning) PPK. Good Hunting, TH

Lugerdoc, I have deleted my Post about Mister Luger and have added him back on my list of sellers. You are right as I did some research On Walt Smeddy and what I read must have been a big misunderstanding between buyer and seller.
I apologize for posting it and hope very few read it. It is on the internet for everyone to read and people should look for more info and I didn't and that's my fault.
Yes about the 7.65 Browning vs the 7.65mmPara, I was just trying to say they similar.
I'm still learning and it is not a fast process and many steps to take.
I am retired and probably older than 98% of those who visit this web-site, but I'll keep reading .

Sportsman's Guide had Fiocchi FMJ .30 Luger ammo for about $21/50rds but I believe they are out of stock right now.
They will email you when they restock. I bought 750 rds but don't do a lot of shooting [and don't reload].
Have 6 Swiss including a 1900.
The Swiss lugers, in my opinion, are works or art.

I have been collecting for 35 yrs in the Luger field, but really got into it after retiring from the army in 2000, being 52, I am one of the younger collectors. I would say the average age is over forty, with a lot over sixty. Years ago we did a poll on how old are you... Most were over sixty, with many seventies +
