Serial number range in 1916
Anyone know the serial number range for 1916 luger?
Anyone know if artillery lugers were mixed in production or separate runs? Thanks All |

<strong>Anyone know the serial number range for 1916 luger? You'll note that there are two manufacturers of Lugers: DWM and Erfurt, each with serial number blocks that can duplicate each other. e.g., 1916 Erfurt Luger 1234a and 1916 DWM Luger 1234a have the same serial number but are, of course, made by two different firms. That's why it's important when speaking of Luger serial numbers to record ALL pertinent data: Serial number INCLUDING suffix letter if present, date and maker. There will definitely be a 1917 Erfurt Luger with the serial number 1234a and also a duplicate DWM. I don't have my books available at the moment as I'm at work. So, I can't comment on the separation of serial numbers bewteen Artillery models and normal 4" models. |
