My first Luger (and G'day from Australia)
First of, I'd like to say thanks to everyone who contributes to this site, It has been a wealth of information in helping me with this purchase.
Secondly, I'm not here to ask the usual "what's it worth" questions as I'm happy with what I paid and it ain't going to be sold anytime soon It's a 1916 DWM Artillery Luger in 9mm And as you can see, It's in bloody good nick, bluing is awesome, straw is nice and strong, all matching numbers except for the trommel mag and loader. I Have a bit of info from the previous owner who received it from a family friend who captured it during Operation Shingle in WW2 (he was a LT with the RNVR) The trommel mag will have to stay at work (I work at a gun shop) until I can get my collectors lic sorted or find a way of capping it to 10 rounds without permanently modifying it (stupid laws we have here in Aus) Have to try and do something about preserving the holster without damaging it, any ideas are welcome on that one. Anyway, just thought I'd make some sort of contribution and show it off Sorry for the links, I can't seem to get an album going. |
