Post Luger to shoot regularly?

I recently bought my first luger(a 1938 S/42) which I have shot just a few rounds in. This was a lot of fun but based on earlier questions and responses in the forum I am thinking that buying a second one to shoot more regularly might be better so as not to damage the one I have.

What would you recommend? And where can I look for them on line? A longer barrel seems interesting for targets. I would be interested in reliablity if that is an avaialble factor and it was suggested to go more modern. Are there newer American or other lugers that might be a better fit?
