Time for a RAFFLE!!!
Fellows..Every so often Ed Tinker and I as well as some other generous Forum members have managed to pull together a raffle on John's site to raise money to help with site expenses to keep the Forum alive.
PRIZE LISTING PAGE http://forum.lugerforum.com/showthread.php?t=21657 Ed and I were talking the other day and he mentioned it might be time to do another Raffle. Everyone seems to find one worth doing and those who win certainly do! At the very least those who buy a ticket or two know they are helping John keep the Luger Forum up and running even if they don't win. ed tinker po box 521 harleysville, pa 19438 RAFFLE ENDS 12 June; that gives us time to get money from folks. Tickets will be "virtual", Ed will Post your ticket numbers as he gets money. One..we need donations for stuff to raffle. I have a couple of great items in mind I am willing to donate and if any of you have anything, it dosen't have to be your prized K date...almost anything you think other Members might want to buy a ticket for will do. Last time I think we had a couple dozen really neat items. Email Ed or myself with whatever you want to commit to. We will compile a list. Then when the winners are picked you will mail it to him directly. So those of us that contribute an item are on the hook for the item AND shipping. DO NOT ship anything to Ed or ME! Anyway..Here we go again! If you have any input at all please let Ed or myself know..We can use all the help we can get. Thanks, Jerry

Good idea,
I will throw somthing in the mix as well: A copy of Gunther Quandt's biography, privately published by his sons Herbert and Harald Quandt in the 1960s. This book was only distributed in the family circuit and amongst friends, so not a common publication at all. It is based on the memoires of Quandt, which he wrote in 1945-1946 when he was interned after the war. For those who are not familiar with the Quandt family. It was Gunther Quandt who gained control of the DWM group (of which Mauser was a part) in 1929. After his death his two sons Herbert Quandt and Harald Quandt took over the operation. Harald Quandt was the son of Gunther Quandt's second wife, Magda Friedlander. She married Dr. Joseph Goebbels after her divorce. |

Usually - I don't post in threads like these, as it typically closes them down faster than rain on a barbecue.. But - I just want to say to Jerry, Ed and all of you - my sincerest "thank you"! As Ed knows (as he calls quite often - usually to check to see if I still really exist - we upgraded this server two weeks ago - and your P38/ppK/s site to finishing writing code for that next software upgrade. At the same time - we are still doing much in Haiti..
So - you bet - a special thank you to all of you..! To assist with the expenses allows us to continue site improvements and frees up some of Jen's and our money to continue our work in Haiti... As well - I know Jerry & Ed are tracking participation in the raffle - so yes - all of you have chosen to assist to defray the expenses of this site, so therefore those who donate products or purchase tickets should also be listed as Patrons - as that's exactly what you are... My sincerest thanks again to all! John D. |

Ed,
I sent an email to Jerry with stuff I'm willing to donate. I don't know what to call it all but, "parts". Mainly, a 16" barrel, 2 bolts, repro grips and small internal parts. I'll post one pick here. If you can use them, fine. If not, that's ok too. Let me know. Oh yeah, $60.00 check on the way to your mailbox.

Ed, I'd also like to donate a new copy of Fred Datig's book "The German Military Pistols, 1904-1930". Do I send it to you with my check for tickets, or just wait for the winner to be announced and send it directly to him? Please advise, Tom
