Default AuctionArms.com is a dangrous place

The subject gun: AA Item #9630069

Seller: Supposed to be a grandson of someone who's dumping inherited property, relatively cheap. God knows.

Buyer: me

This seller is weird. He directed me to pay to a person addressed in Detriot, MI, which he claimed being his wife. Yahoo Map shows the address being a small business building. His phone area code 651 indicates St Paul, MN, and no one answers the phone. A few emails back and forth, he claimed he would be out of town so better receive $$ ASAP blah-blah -- all he cared was money, never cared about FFL. Intelius phone & name lookup shows the name for that phone does not match his AA registered name.

And, this guy simply could not call me because he's still working at midnight "Can we discuss the deal via email?" So, he's a little bit shy. I did meet another guy calling me asking refund for a fake check back a few years ago.

The smell is not very good, matching Internet fraud stereotype. Will drop the deal.

Reported this seller to AuctionArms.com.

I just sold one genuine Red 9 a week ago. The price is not too far away.

Interesting enough, even Yahoo Mail dislikes this guy. All his emails were put into "Spam" folder directly. I have to go there to find them

The only purchase that I truly got burnt on ($700 worth) was through Auction Arms. I don't even go there anymore.

The only gun I have bought thru AA was from jackthedog ( Mark Wipurd ). I wish he would start using GB!

Just checked, AuctionArms.com disabled this guy's account. +1

This transaction bothered me yesterday. It's the first time that I decided that I wouldn't pay after making a commitment, although it's obvious that I would not jump into a trap.

Feel much better now.

[Edit] AA confirmed his gun pictures were stolen from a well known auction house. No wonder the gun looks correct and the background looks so clean.

I would not use Auction Arms for any reason. I do like Gunbroker.

Mark is a good guy who takes good pics. If you spot an error, he'll shortly correct it.
