What's it worth?
OK I am looking to buy a luger and this is the info that I have.
I'm told it is a "Swiss Luger" It has the Interarms name on the gun. It says original Mauser on the top. Says made in Germany on the back. Says Mauser Werks A G Oberndorf a. N. Serial number is 11-0011XX looks to have a marking that says FBM????? 9mm 4" barrel The gun is approx 95% condition Any ideas of approx value? Thanks for any help |

Check the auction sites for going prices, I'm guessing from $700 to $1000 depending on condition, box w/papers, etc.

Hello Mike,
welcome to the forum, for a newer luger like this, is it NIB, does it come with a box, has it been shot a lot? How much are they asking for it? (for an older gun, I'd ask for pictures before giving you a $4000 dollar ballpark, as it is, $500-$1200) Ed

Thanks for the welcome.
The current owner has not fired it. If it has been fired, it can't be much. The only wear seems to be from openning the action. The bore looks brand new. Perhaps only test fired? He does not have the box. They are asking $600 Thanks for the help. I'm new to Lugers! |

From your description, $600.00 doesn't sound too bad.

Firstly, it's not a bad deal at all for $600. -The pistol isn't 'Swiss' but a 1970s Mauser based on the Swiss 06/29 type. -The 11xx number places it in the very first lot of Interarms contract pistols produced. -FBM is the non-official Mauser company proof used on US export guns. -Built ca. 1971, if you can give me the full serial I can run it through the Mauser records! |

Mike,
This is an Interarms-Mauser, as Vlim says, made in the '70's. I have one that is a sortta copy of the 1906 Navy. The one you're looking at has the Swiss style frame. Some small differences. They are, generally, good shooters. I did have some problems with the mag springs, but GT, on this site switched them out for me. I also didn't like the grips. They are kindda clunky and sharp. Hugh, on this site, smoothed them out more to the DWM grip profile. Unless it has been damaged somehow, $600 is a good price. FN Last edited by FNorm; 04-25-2010 at 10:11 AM. Reason: sp |

And thanks for pointing out the typo. I take comfort in knowing that I'm not the only "wise guy" on the forum. It gets lonely at the bottom. Ron
