Repro Navy sights?
I'd like to build a fake Navy cause I think one would make a fun, accurate range gun.....an original is not in my plans.... from what I've seen, I restored my MGB for less than the cost of a nice real one! I understand there were reasonably priced repro Navy toggles available at some point, but after scouring the internet, I can't seem to find a source....any ideas?

Hi Bob, The last Navy rear toggle that I saw auctioned off went for over $700.00. Simpson's is selling a fake Navy for $1,495.00 (see link). I doubt you could put one together for much less. Regards, Norm

Last Navy rear toggle I had was last year and I think I sold it for about $400. It was not a repro.

I'm waking up an old thread.
I've heard rumours of german repro navy toggles. Does anyone know who makes/sells them and how to get in touch? I know that Lugerdoc and CMR sells the parts but living in EU my wallet complains against paying double overheads for the parts. |

I have purchased a reproduction of the navy rear sight at Germany about 3 years ago. If I remember good, price was about EUR 400.
Link to seller bellow: http://www.cds-ehrenreich.de/ersatzteile/ --- While I have previous (and really bad) experiences with another two replicas of this navy toogle sight, I would like to warning anybody from purchasing this two replicas: 1. Nice looking, machined replica. If you will see that the grid at toogle is turned by 90 degrees, than you should to know that this replica doesn´t have any heat treatment. I fired about 35 low power target rounds. After that the hairline crack has been on the toogle. 2. Pood looking replica, probably casted to the sand form? Really poor and cheep look. Makes you to vomit when you look at that parody to the toogle grid. Also without heat treatment. I tested it with 50 rounds of factory ammo. It works, found no crack, bud I took it away and never install again. --- That repro from CDS is simply great. Perhaps there is little bit more lpi at the grid than at the original, but it looks and works great. Diamond file for fitting necessary. It´s has damn good heat treatment. Factory bluing is poor, stained and brown. Rebluing needed. The "V" cut is little bit smaller for me, I like it more deep. I do not know why, but cca last year those toogle repro is not on the list. While I am from Czech Republic and I already had been in contact with CDS, if anybody here is interested about, I can ask CDS if there is or will be some for sale again. Zbynek,
One of these would be fun to have--if the price were right... By all means, keep us posted concerning their potential availability!

They've got a SWEEEET 1937 S/42 artillery on there.
It's not original however, the sideplate is a mismatch! Jack
