Thank you Frank! Not as good as actually being there but very enjoyable. Looked like there was a fairly good selection of Lugers and C96s although the views were far too brief. Also a nice assortment of headgear and edged weapons.
Thought I caught a glimpse of a couple of familar faces, but it could be my imagination. Also heard a smattering or two of English being spoken...not unusual for Europe but interesting all the same.
Again, thank you for this brief tour of a Swiss gun show.

It was actually the first time that I used the video function on my photo cam, had to try at the show first on how to get it to work and still did it wrong but something came out ok.
That English speaking was between Werner Kessler (from the auctions) and a guy I don't know. There were many people from abroad and Bob Simpson was one of them, I had a short talk with him there last Thursday.
The clip was taken just shortly before the show opened it's doors and I could not have done this no more after the crowd came in so I made it at the final moment before.

Funny thing is that this show is a mix of languages, it takes place in the French part of Switzerland so French rules but of course German, English, Flemish and many other languages are heard there, it's one of the things I like best.

For all practical purposes, no. Except for antique arms, the import paperwork is mind boggling. and antique guns can be a pain as well. One of the forum members has had considerable experience in importing guns and does not find it particulaly daunting, but it is not for the novice.

Yes but you can't take it back home in your suitcase, the gun sellers there are all certified gun dealers that are able to export so buying is possible but it stays with the dealer till the ATF allows you to import it through the dealer of your choice at your side of the pond.
Michael Zeleny made a very good posting on my forum on how to import guns from Switzerland....

Under the latest Swiss gun laws antique is before 1870 only, so in no way a Luger, the paperwork is not that bad just the waiting time before you get it is, some 6 months they are....

Oooof, I did not look into the prices, The $ is less as the CHF now so not cheap but the official retailers in the USA have that same problem also so it's still worth it to travel over to CH and hold the gun of your choice into your hands first before you buy it.
The next good show is the Luzern one in March/April, there is even better stuff there and it's close to Zürich airport.

I imported a Luger from Germany and it was a small nightmare!! My importer did not help the situation though. I finally had to do all the work as far as the ATF paperwork goes. I just used him for his license! My exporter in Germany was great though! The only reason it was a nightmare was because the Luger was military surplus. I also imported three other firearms with no issue what-so-ever. It also helped that I shipped it in government house hold goods...

Switzerland used to be a nice place to buy well kept Swiss army pistols. Since the people who they were issued to were able to purchase, keep and use them (with sponsored ammunition) for target shooting, there are quite a few of them around and in good condition.

Things changed over here when the Swiss lugers in .30 luger ended up on the exemption list in Belgium. It is possible to own a Swiss luger without any kind of permit legally there, as long as you don't have the ammunition for it.

This created a situation where the retail value of a Swiss luger in Belgium almost doubled overnight. We used to buy them for around 700 Euros, now you have to look really hard to find one below 1500 ...

The inflated Belgian prices also influenced the prices in the surrounding countries. Those who bought at the right moment came out very well

Do not forget about the dreaded importer markings that will be stamped on the gun once in the USA.

My importer forgot to mark my Luger! So I actually have a VOPO with no import stamp on it.

And some people can't stand me, that is the real reason that you are writing this.
