Default New to Lugers - What is this Script ?

THis pistol has very few markings. There is this ornate mark on the top. What is it? There is a serial number on the frame, beneath the barrel -- ABCD (four numbers) followed underneath by what appears to be a lower case "a" .

A few other parts have the same last numbers, i.e., "CD".

That's all I can find !
(The magazine has a slightly different 4-digit number and some other marks. I assume it is not the original.)

With so little info, how do I ID this pistol?

Thanks for any help or direction...

My guess is a commercial Luger with added monogram. "JB"? You can send more photos, but at this point it looks like a shooter, that is to everyone except Jim Beam.

Looks like someone ground flat the forward toggle and added their own engraving.

There must have been quite an ego behind the modification...

I can see it as JBO, JLO, J&O, etc. I'll say JLO since those are my initials; why not?

I am at a loss as to your question?

Revealing your serial number will reveal what?

No real info here, a tampered toggle that looks photo-shopped....

Give us the serial number, suffix, with pictures, show us right and left for any acceptance markings and we can pin point it a bit
