My new Luger
Hello,
still new here and just purchased my first (and probably not my last) Luger. I found this one in a local Pawn Shop for what I believe is a fair price considering her age. Not in mint condition but still - after a good cleaning she turned out better than I thought. I believe this Luger is in original condition - the finish shows some speckles but overall I think she shows well. The left side of the receiver/extractor is marked with a crown over B, U, and the bottom of the barrel is proofmarked with a crown over B, U, G, the number118.35 G, and the serial # (45269). The serial # also shows in front of the frame - not stamped "Germany". One of the grips shows some bruising and maybe this can be replaced at some point in time. There is no stock lug and no hold-open, on the toggle it has the DWM marking and safety says "Gesichert" and "Geladen". After braking the pistol down I didn't find any mismatched parts except the magazine, which shows a serial # (630 d). Is there a place where I could get a period correct magazine with a wooden base and no serial #. Maybe somebody is interested in a trade?! Also interested in a period correct hoster if this is an option at all. Here are some pics - some are somewhat dark: |
