Re: Did the Airforce wear metal metal helmets???
The Luftwaffe sure did wear steel helmets - remember that the Luftwaffe had innumerable FlugzeugAbwehrKannonenRegimente [FlAk Regiments] all of whom would have worn the Stahlhelm. The Luftwaffe also had many ground troops, including aircraft engineers, logistics, and so on, just like we did. The 'flying eagle' is the usual transfer seen on such helmets.

Re: Did the Airforce wear metal metal helmets???
I've got one of those. A guy gave it to me about 20 years ago. Found it in the attic of a renter house that his dad owned. No Luger though.

Re: Weren't The.....
Short answer is if it flew, it belonged to Der Dicke Hermann. Even the scout aircraft aboard ship were C2 by Luftwaffe. No wonder they got creamed by my (still living) Uncle...

Re: Weren't The.....
On the right trade that paratroop helmet could get you a REALLY great Luger and if it is double decal even better.

Re: Weren't The.....
I have a nice M35 DD helmet with the original chinstrap owner/unit marked. It is marked "Fl.H. K. Wels III./K.G.158. The chinstrap is maker marked RAHM & KAMPMANN over WUPPK(?)TAL-E over 1937. The other end of the strap has the initials L.B.A. stamped just before the owner/unit markings, but are upside down.

Great! Sold one about 3 years ago for 3200 but it was in desert tan. That will get you a nice Luger!
