SS Stamp
This is a WWI style construction holster if I am not mistaken. There are apparently no maker's markings on the back of this, just the purported SS stamp, with which I am unfamiliar. Pics are not good enough to spot any faint maker's mark. My suspicions are that the stamp is bogus. Does anyone know if it's legit or a decent holster ruined by boosting?

Looks like a bogus stamp to me. Theres too many items out there with SS markings added to them
to try and boost value. SS items are rare as hens teeth, Stamp also looks very fresh IMHO. |

While no expert by any stretch of the imagination I agree that the SS stamp appears to be too fresh to be authentic but I do not agree that the holster has been ruined, assuming it can be had for under $100. Just my two cents.

How sad. A nice holster has been sodomized.

As Ron says... a perfectly good holster in great condition ruined by greed.

Like Lon Said if you can get it for cheap its still worth it. But guaranteed someone will drink the cool aid and pay way too much for it.

A holster for a decent price I would buy, then take the marking out by rubbing or the like. But the price of the holster would have to be worth it, AFTER you did that |

Somebody "freshened" it up by dyeing a brown holster black, too...

My sincere apologies to the members of this forum for my vulgar observation. I try to refrain from crass remarks but sometimes my opprobrium outweighs my better nature. In particular the use of a "SS" marking really gets my hackles up.
Again, my apologies, Ron

On TV, Terry Bradshaw says that one in three people will get Hackles in their lifetime. Terry says if you had chicken pox, the Hackles virus is already inside you. My doctor gave me a Rx for a Hackles shot. I don't know if it will do any good or not.

I always think of them as on a "chicken", but then anyone can get their "hackles" up if confronted with certain situations, like faux SS markings.
NOUN (hackles) 1-erectile hairs along the back of a dog or other animal that rise when it is angry or alarmed. (hackles) 2-a long, narrow feather on the neck or saddle of a domestic rooster or other bird. 3-a steel comb for separating flax fibers. I have to admit I did not know about #3. Kurusu, Great Picture!
