The only History I know on the helmet is that it was issued to Pioneer Battallion 27 as per the unit mark on the rear visor. The helmet to me appears to be unissued.

That is a super example, finding one in that original condition is extremely rare. I really like pickelhauben and I am pleased that you have shared yours with us.

Nice!
I like Pickelhauben myself. Here is a Zittau Polizei spike helmet that I picked up recently. Notice that since this is a Saxon City Police helmet the cockades are in Zittau City colors as is correct. Thanks for showing yours.
