Default Questione on stock for LP08 from a new member

I have a question about the metal of the pins and rivets on the leather accessories attached to the stock of the LP08 : I have seen them both in brass and in iron .Is there a connection with the year of construction or did they used both metals in any year ? More specifically : Is It correct to have these parts in brass on a stock built in 1917?
