DWM American Eagle Luger
I'm being offered a DWM marked Luger with the American Eagle stamped over the chamber. Finish would rate about 99% with just a hint of muzzle wear. Serial number is 55099. The word Germany is stamped on the frame just under the serial number. It has grip safety. The seller is asking $2500. Is this a reasonable price?

I forgot to mention the caliber is 7.65 and the barrel is 6 inches long.

J.L., the price sounds like the going rate for an American Eagle in this kind of condition. Make sure it's not a "reblue", and that it has matching numbers. Pictures would help.

Are you sure the barrel is 6 inches long and not 4 3/4 inches?

The barrel is 4.75 inches. Sorry for the mistake. It has the crown over N proofs on the bottom of the barrel, the left side of the upper, one on the bolt, and one on the toggle link. It is definitely not a reblue.
What is the year of manufacture?

Hi Joe,
The folks at Simspons LTD have this one for sale at $ 2750...here is their link to some photos : http://www.simpsonltd.com/LugerRoom/...E-18/AE-18.htm I think if yours is comparable to this one at $ 2500, you have a decent buy... Well sorry if this is off topic but i want to buy a Stoger American Eagle Luger but the magazine only holds seven rounds. Would the luger magazines that hold 8 rounds fit in this gun?

Kohaku,
This should be in the Post WWII forum but the answer is that if your magazine has the folded spine down the sides, a standard Luger magazine will work. If the sides are flat, then only the ones built by ORIMAR will work. Steve |

no problem Kohaku2416... in the future, just go to the appropriate forum for your post, and use the NEW TOPIC button instead of POST REPLY...
Welcome to the Lugerforum.

The first part of my reply came out harsher than I intended. Your post was fine!
