Post Cartridge change insert sleeves

Has anybody tried those 7.62x39 inserts on a 30-06?. I wan't to do some plinking and was wondering if it could hurt my rifle. I am considering putting it in my 98k chambered for 30-06 by the Norwegians. I have a .308 insert, however, I'm Irish and that Russian stuff is cheap! Do you think it does harm at the point it engages the rifleing?. I'm thinking it is still going slow and won't harm. I'd like to be sure and would welcome opinions on the subject.
