"Joining the ranks" question

I've come to rely on this board quite a bit of late and I've decided that's it's only right to pay for the privledge. There has been some great advice given to me by the good members here and it's time I pulled my own weight, to what little extent I can (considering how little I can offer information-wise).

So I went to the "donate" section to donate to this worthy cause, but no suggested amounts are given. I realize that it's up to the contributor, but without some kind of benchmark it's hard to come up with an appropriate figure. Can anyone give me an idea of what's considered the proper amount? You can PM me if you'd rather not post an answer.

$25 is a fair amount once a year. I beleive because John D hates to ask for any amount that he left the amount blank. Of course, thousands of dollars will gladly be taken too I am sure!

I also think it is about time for another raffle.... what should we raffle? A shooter luger? A shooter P38 (I have one of each that could be "donated cheap", and the rest going to the lugerforum.com money pot...

Ed, A raffle is always a good idea....You have a pistol, now where are you going to find someone to run it? It takes a fair amount of time as you and I both know...I don't have it as I am swamped...Any ideas? Jerry Burney

How would a raffle like that work? Would it be online or would one have to send in payment and get tickets? How would an impratial drawing be done?

It sounds like a good idea but might be difficult to implement, as Jerry says...

Steve, we've done it several times, we run it, it is impartial, if you don't believe us, then don't play

Hey, I am in Kennewick, my dad has to have surgery tomorrow (found out last night, and I flew here today), so if folks could say a prayer for him, I'd apprecaite it!

A couple of notes.....

Steve - my sincerest Thank you! for your offer of support of this forum... Without you - and others - this forum wouldn't exist. Since I refuse to take "donations" without giving back, LugerForum Patrons are why this site is able to exist.

On that note, I'll be adding your name to several others over the next day in this thread (http://forum.lugerforum.com/showthre...threadid=11284), as I finally had the chance to get to the post office this AM.... I remain daunted and humbled by some folks support....

John, thank you for this board. It's my latest addiction and is threatening my buying other guns. Just this afternoon I saw a nice CZ-50 for sale cheap. I almost bought it but then thought, "Hey, that's a fifth of a Erfurt"....

The check is, literally, in the mail. You ought to have it any day now.

thanks guys, dad is doping fine, I said doping on purpose, as they have him on some morphine stuff... He has an infection, so they are giving him large doses of antibiotics. His surgery was re-scheduled for this afternoon, so the anti's could work...

So, this afternoon around 3-4 pm pacific time, say a prayer for us, supposed to be an easy "routine' thing

Ed, I always seem to get in late on these things! Not knowing what kind of surgery your Dad is about to undergo, I can't give you any technical reassurances, but I'm sure he'll do fine. You are a grand son to be at his bedside in his time of need. Please contact me if you have any questions that the docs don't answer fully for you.

thanks Doc, got back, since I am a hipaa guy, I was being vauge, his gall bladder was causing problems, was all infected.

He is back from recovery, was joking and kidding, so I am very releived, my mom who is on a trip to Scotland (once in a lifetime with her sister trip), is more than relieved!!
