Default Malfunction in a Swiss 06/24 ??(Problem solved Please delete thread)

Hello folks

Spent a little range time today and test fired an 06/24 Swiss luger. This gun is super accurate and is in the original 30 luger caliber. Were talking 2-3 inchs at 25 yds which is more accurate than I am. Only problem was that the gun was misfeeding about every other rd. I tried 4 different mags and 3 different ammo types all with the same results. The round would fail to chamber and would wind up nose up at the chamber face. I used fiocchi fmj, jsp and some Lapua fmj. The gun ejects and extracts fine but just wont feed reliably. I was really surprised. I have fired 4 other swiss lugers and have never had a malfunction of any type. I did grease the rails but I dont think I used to much. Could it be a mainspring problem? The action feels plenty strong. Well any assistance would be appreciated.

Regards !

Dean

Hello Dean,
I had exactly the same problem with my 06/24. Finally I took old swiss ammo making the pistol work properly. It seems that the actual 7,65 ammo ist too weak for our old guns.

Thanks for the reply Armin. The strange thing is that all my other Swiss lugers which includes an early 06/24 work well with the above mentioned ammunition. Is Swiss military ammo that much hotter than Fiocchi or Lapua? If that is the issue then perhaps reloading would be the answer. If I need another mainspring then what would be recommended?Where would a good place to get it be?

Hi Lu1900

Are you sure the extractor spring would be the problem if the gun is extracting ok?

Thanks !

Default Extractor !

Merci LU1900 ! This may be worth a try. It is not the empty cases that are jamming though it is the live rds.
