Hello,
First, please forgive me my English language. I will try write short...
Couple years ago I get from my grandfather this leather holster and now I try to find information what is it. I suppose it is TM-08 leather carrier.
I paste three photos but if these not display in this post I sent it in email.

Thanks a lot,
Jakub

The case has nothing to do with a TM08.

http://claus.espeholt.dk/mediearkiv/WAAE.pdf
they are assign to P08 (description as one of P08 holster).

Thanks for help.

I like Jerry believe this is a compass case... I can think of no other device that would be shaped like this that would be carried on the belt... it would be too clumsy for an ammo pouch.

The case is far too large for a compass case, even an engineer compass with al l the extra tom-foolery that is attendent to them.

My ASGGOGC is a measuring tape container. I ran across one similar in a flea market in Mannheim in '73.

Thinking along the lines of a compass, could it possibly be for a form of aiming circle used to lay an artillery piece?

How about the MG34 AAC circular sight or some type of drum magazine? TH

I have never seen this type case used for any MG34 or MG42 guns; they have square bottoms. The AA sight for both these weapons were carried in a special compartment in the tool pouch.

I have one that is similar, without the loop inside and was told it was for an artillery instrument. I have no idea what it is for, but mine appears to be post war, so if it is, it was used after the war for something.

Thank You very much, I will be grateful for next suggestions. Personally I have supposition that this is case for some kind of signals equipment. Because my grandfather was in Russian signal corps perhaps this is his war prize. But I'm not definitively sure.
