I am no expert on the "newer" lugers, but I love your box! Where did you get it? Make it? I love oak, it is such a classy wood.

Charly, It may seem the Waffenamt Marks are E/135 and E/136, but in reality they are both E/135!!!! These are found on the late 41 byf and 42 byf Lugers. Some speculate the number of 41 byf Lugers containing these Inspection Marks as low as 4000. I think there are more like 15000 with these markings.

Really nice way to keep and show a Luger, and what a gift something like that would make for someone! Maybe for an extra charge your friend could add a brass plate on the outside of the top for engraving on it. An optional built-in lock is something many might want too.
