Question Yearly production estimates for WWI vintage Lugers?

Dear Forum,

I've been trying to find out if there are any yearly production figures available for Erfurt manufactured pistols prior to and during WWI. I've been to the library and have spent some time searching the internet but have had no luck.

While I've found some information regarding DWM, I've come up empty handed for Erfurt.

Any help, pointers, or information would be much appreciated.

Dave in TN.

Default

Jan C. Still, Imperial Lugers, 1991 p.15

Estimated production:

1911 P-08..........10,000

1912 P-08..........21,000

1913 P-08..........23,000

1914 P-08............7,000

1914 LP-08........23,000

1915 P-08 None Reported

1916 P-08..........80,000

1917 P-08........180,000

1918 P-08........175,000

Erfurt did not produce P-08 before the war, and their production was shut down in 1918.

Chances are you will not find this book in the library, if you do be sure to check it out and read it.
