I read a huge "arguement" on this on a WW1 website last month when this came out. Evidently there are 2 conflicting arguements, one side says it is there, another says it is in another site, but close to there.

Reading all the "facts", I find it possible, but not 100%...

Actually I thought the hard evidence was a bit thin myself. I'd go as far as saying there's a good chance this is the sight but from an Archeologists viewpoint certainly not conclusive. Still very interesting. Just imagine how much "stuff" is still out there! In doing an archeological excavation on a trench area about a year or so ago several human remains were uncovered. Mention was made of the fact that no doubt thousands remain.

Steve, I agree with you, it is fascinating, I did not mean otherwise

Did you see the Little Big Horn show on history channel a couple of years ago, after they had a fire that burned off the grasses. They found lots of artifacts, fascinating stuff,

Edward, I knew exactly what you meant. This type of stuff is really facinating and a great subject for discussion, ideas, viewpoints whatever. I've read two different books on the Custer archeology work. I love that kind of stuff - betting you and alot of other forum members do also! Tell you a funny story. In Paris quite a number of years ago, my wife and I were going through the French Military Museum. She kept groaning about me lingering at every display. I could have stayed all day of course. Anyway in one room they had kind of a diorama with one of napoleon's actual tents set up. We stood there for a bit looking at it and I remarked "just imagine Napoleon Boneparte actually in that tent and planned battles and campaigns". She gave me a puzzled look and simply said "our tents bigger than that". She's great lady but some people just have different interests!

gave me goose pimples..... When I see or better yet, touch something. A friend of mine has the luger that actually belonged to Von Papen (sp) and I held it, when I touch or see history that close, ti is too cool. When I traveled around in europe (was in the army and stationed there for 7 years), I just had to touch things (like the base of the eiffel tower, the base of the huge pyramid at Waterloo, etc...
