Default Help with Unit Markings

Hi,

I just acquired my first Luger, a 1938 S/42 with holster, tool and 2 mags.
I'm hoping that someone can identify the unit marking. O.3604.

It's a Kriegsmarine marking indication that it was the property of the German navy and assigned to the docks at the Naval station in Kiel which was the Ostsee (Baltic) Fleet.

Pistols so marked are some of the very few Third Reich unit marked Lugers. Others here will have far more to offer you on this marking.

This marking appears to have been engraved. I thought that originally they were stamped into the grip strap. Please advise, TH

Hi

Thanks for the comments.

The gun has serial #75n and all parts are matching apart from the mags.

I've attached a few more photographs.
