What's it Worth?
Hi Folks,
Got a doosy of a question. Don't have pics, but can anyone tell me roundabout what the following would be worth? 1920 DWM Police 9mm Luger with period holster and a separate dual magazine pouch. Pistole in great condition all matching except magazine. Spare magazine is also included in the dual magazine pouch. Just need a good guess as to where to start |

reblued? nickled? Brien, a bit too open to give a "value".... could be $800 for all, or $1200...

Brien, Most matching original finish unpitted P08s start around $1K these days. The added value of the spare mag, pouch & holster would depend mostly on condition, but the markings might be important, so at least another $200 to ?. If the sear or mag safety has been added or it is unit marked, those are all pluses. TH

Ed,
I empathize. I take Ambien as well. Thanks for the input. I am considering purchasing the Luger but am a little leary of spending that much right now. I just retired, 20 yrs USAF and money is a little tight. May I ask your opinion? I have in my collection: 1. A 1912 police shooter 2. An Erfurt 1917 with Matching mag 3. A 1993 Mirchell Arms 4. A 1920 .30 cal Commercial model Should I save and go for a WWII Nazi marked Luger, try and build a nice Navy shooter ( I have a complete 1916 upper) or spring for the 1920 Weimar Police issue. No pressure, I just would like some other opinions. |

Brien, all depends on if you are collecting a "type" or era, or a wide range, but desire value in your guns.
if in value, then right now, I'd say a 3rd Reich pistol or WW1 Imperial. I collect weimar era, so I lean that direction, but won't turn down a different era or 'type", I can always use it as trading material or for some profit down the road. Ed |

Since Lugers are getting in scarce supply, in any condition, I urge you to buy it. I had a chance to buy a Luger that was unmatching but turned down the purchase. And, I have mentally kicked myself since. That was 2 years ago and since then I have seen only about 5 Lugers available for sale.
By purchasing it now, you have another Luger for your collection, and a good shooter. Good luck on your decision.
