Default Are there any Repro Trommel Mags??

Hey guys,

Someone might already have made a thread like this, but here it goes..

Have there been any reproduction trommel mags made? Like either newly manufactured for use or maybe fakes to fool a collector? I would be very interested in buying a reproduction trommel mag if the price was right. I cannot afford the price of an original, but would LOVE to own one. So if anyone could let me know, that would be great.

Thanks,
Rylan

Rylan,

There are "faux" drum magazines available, standard magazines with fake drums added to them. I have seen a couple, have no idea of the source. It would be cost-prohibitive to re-create the real thing!

Rumor has it that a suspiciously LARGE group of TM08's is being offered by a seller in the Czech Republic. I believe that the asking price worked out to be about $900 a piece.

I kinda figurered that, I think if a company was able to mass produce them the would do very well. Then again I don't even know how Trommel Mags operate. How complex are they, are there any internal pics?

I think I might have to bite the bullet and buy a real one, one day.

Ryan,

You can ALWAYS get more money. These things have damn near doubled in price in the last 10 years.

About ten months ago I was on hold with Numrich Arms when the recording said something about a new shipment of reproduction Artillary Luger drum mags, coming soon. But everytime I called to ask them about it they said they didn't know when they were coming. After a few calls I quit...

Maybe they have them by now?

The best thing about trommel mags is they are LEGAL in Canada. In canada ALL handgun mags are pinned at 10 rounds. But the trommel mag is the ONLY exeption that I know of. They used to be pinned at 5 rounds (which means drills ect...), but then it was realized they were destroying history.

What is the going price for a funtional trommel mag.. at it's cheapest?
