Default New to Lugers

I'm intrested in picking up a nice Luger P08 shooter. Not sure where to start. I am not a collector or gun counisour so I'm not looking to spend more than say $500. Just looking for a dependable "vintage" pistol that I can take to the range. What would you guys recommend?

Thank you,

I looked for a couple of years to find what you're looking for. you won't find it. Aim a bit higher, $600-700, and you may luck out. Search on websites and gunshows, and ask around gun guys. At $500 or less, all you'll find is a pile of parts (partly broken and incomplete) that will take time and money to get to where you want it.

600-700 is still doable. Thanks for the advice.

Anyone on this site have a nice shooter for sale?

Your best bet is to watch the WTS section on this forum and the one on the luger gunboards

http://luger.gunboards.com/

The guns in the range your talking do not last long, so be on your toes and check often.

There is a Finnish Luger for sale now but a little higher in cost, it would be a good buy and make both a collectible and shooter.
They make great shooters as many have already had their barrels replaced.

Also try it here:

http://www.proxibid.com

Search for the word "Luger".... if no one competes with you, they could be cheap.
