Another 1941 byf
Seems like there've been a lot of new byfs reported lately so I thought I'd do a thread on my 41 byf SN 7345u. It's a beautful all matching pistol with black grips that's hardly been fired (a stiff tight gun with very little wear in the action compared to my shooter). The salt bluing is deep black and only worn on a few high points like on the side plate. The left grip is worn a bit in the center where the thumb rests and some idiot buggered up the take down lever. Though it's nearly 70 years old it looks better than a lot of five year old pistols! I did a thread on it a couple years ago but have better pictures now so thought a new thread would be in order.
Here are some photos: (the first two are flash photos) (These duller images were done on a scanner for more detail. A post war magazine is in the scanned images). (The grips appear to be genuine bakelite, not fakes.) Last edited by Quentin; 01-03-2009 at 03:57 AM. |
