MAuser Banner value??

I have a chance to pick up a 1942 chamber Eagle "L" Banner. It has the Eagle "N" proofs, is all matching including the number one mag. Barrel is unnumbered only mark is "883". Original blued finish is an easy 98% and grips are mint. He wants $1700. The gun was bought from Ralph Shattuck ten years ago. Just not up on higher priced P.08's. TIA

The barrel guage only with no serial is OK on a Mauser Banner Police. What are the markings on the Matching Magazine? Are the grips numbered to the pistol? It sounds like about market value to me.

Mauser Banners usually did not have the serial number on the barrel. However there is a proof mark on the front of the front sight.
