Default New book rumor--information?

At the Portland gun show this weekend, the main high-quality bookseller told me of a pending release from Collector Grade Publications, a 2,000-page, three-volume edition on Luger pistols being prepared for release this Spring. As the bookseller reported to me, during his conversation with CGP they were being coy and not revealing the author.

Can anyone shed more light on this?

Most likely Geoffrey Sturgess.

Gerben no doubt is correct. Sturgess' book is reported to be much too large for a single volume.

Obviously I have not seen it; but has it been reviewed by knowledgable folks?

I only ask because I have seen a few works self published that are upstairs, and they are fairly poor.

Well, Sturgess has access to most European sources, so I expect it to be an interesting read. His project started out as a translation of Joachim Görtz his 'Die Pistole 08', but developed into something of an epic project.

I just have seen a couple of books done without them being looked over by experts.

I have bought 2 red books (author I can't remember, Moore or something like that), a Mauser book by 3 authors (not anyone from the forums) and a book that is by a guy I know out of the west and all three I barely look at because of the inaccuracies...

that said, if it is based off of Gortz, well, I can barely stand waiting...
