Default Toys

I was in a Toys-R-Us and found some Lugers in the GI Joe and Ultimate Soldier figures. GI Joe has a Panzer Sgt-Major with a Luger. It has a detachable magazine, black grips and a P-38 holster. Ultimate Soldier has a U-Boat Commander outfitted with a Luger that has brown grips and a Luger holster but I can't tell if the magazine comes out. Earlier I saw one of those brands with a weapon set called Axis Weapons that had a C-96 Mauser pistol.

Where else can you get a NIB gun with holster for less than $20.00?

I have two of the Ultimate Soldiers dolls and a motorcycle with a sidecar. The detail is outstanding. On the MP40s that came with the figures, the stocks fold and the magazines come out. The uniforms and field gear also are very well detailed.

Surprising. I thought that Toys R Us banned the sale all toy guns during the million mom march. They destroyed all their toy guns at the time. Maybe I am misunderstanding the size of these new toys. Maybe this is an indication that we are winning some small battles. I hope so.

I believe everything has changed since 9/11. The PC crowd is down to the 14% that don't approve of George W.'s handling of Usama. Reality occasionally hits people in the face.

Jim, you are right about the PC crowd but it's sad that it takes something as tragic as 9-11 to get people to wake up.

Anyway, back to the action figures, as I said in a previous post, they are very well detailed. Among accessories are a P.38 with holster and bayonet with a scabbard. I think there is one with a Luger too, but I don't have that one yet.

It is surprising in the PC era that a company would make such an authentic-looking German soldier action figure.

I bought the Ultimate Soldier toy and took the Luger and holster out to look at. The gun is all one piece with brown grips. The magazine does not come out but the holster is functional even if the spare magazine pouch is not. I just think it is a neat thing to keep in the case with my full size gun. So if anyone wants a fairly detailed looking gun about 1 inch long, go for it!
