My First Luger 30 Cal
I just picked this up today. By chance my old neighbor is moving and bought this in WWII. He was a B-29 Pilot. I will try and post Pic's and let me know what I have. I did research last nite. Looks in excellent ++++ condition. The feed ramp looks like it has never been fired. The neighor said he fired it once in the sixty's. I ran some nitro solvent down the barrel and it cleaned up pretty good. Will have to give barrel a good cleaning for any pits to find. Just some holster wear. The grips look like new. I know this gentleman very well for the last 8 years. Only 1 clip and no holster, but the price was to die for!!!!!! All matching numbers. What year is it and what is the rough estimate of worth if that's OK to ask....Thanks!!! Also is that the letter A below the serial number????????? I also load and shoot 45 and 9mm luger in a custom Browning Mark III this ought to be interesting to load. Any sites or info for bullets and brass, loading welcome....Thanks again!!!!

Hi Patrick,
Welcome to the madness. Your Luger is classified as an Alphabet DWM commercial (formerly 1920 commercial). It was made by DWM for export to the US in the latter part of 1925. The full serial# is 2822o. The 'o' is part of the S#. The 'GERMANY' stamps on the front of the frame and on the magazine are export stamps. The 30 Luger round is very fast and has a flat trajectory. You'll be addicted quickly. In our new economy, it is worth around $900-$1000. Two years ago, one as nice as yours could get $1400-$1500.
