1920 commercial trigger

i will soon be receiving a 1920 commercial luger that i am told has a very light trigger pull,,,, mabey even dangerously light, can this be adjusted or repaired, what should i check, as i am new to luger collecting, thank you in advance for any tech info.. Matt in AZ.

The light pull is certainly potentially dangerous. There is a right way to approach this, and are several wrong ways. At minimum, you're exposed to multiple cycling of the gun.

Your best bet will be to get it to someone with experience adjusting and repairing Luger triggers.

Don't try an "reform" parts of the trigger mechanism to "Fix" this. You'll sometimes see the slot at the top of the trigger crushed, or attempts to bend the trigger plate's transfer bar. These are hardened parts and would probably be as happy snapping as bending.

Probably not. Sear engagement is the most likely culprit (worn or modified)...if indeed the trigger pull is "too light".

I have had several Lugers with a light trigger pull and both had ballpopint pen springs for a trigger spring. The owners had lost the small stout original trigger spring and had replaced them with ballpoint pen springs. Actually worked pretty well but the trigger pull was very light. Take a look and see what's in there for a trigger spring just to make sure before you do anything drastic.
