It was a trip!! I may sneek off to Phoenix to see some more minty Lugers! I will sneek and not tell Frank, cause he will be there one day ahead of me to buy all those treasures! Ted

Default I think you are safe.... ;)

Jen has put my on a strict "budget" after my latest trip and Luger acquisitions..... I'm sweet talking her to see if my Luger spending money will ever be re-established - but I'm not hopeful during the next six months or so - or about the time that Hugh can take my order for my Baby Luger..!!

Yea - don't be too surprised, I CAN be serious occasionally..

Hugh - I know I'm about #10 on your list, but is there a formal ordering proceedure or something you need from us to confirm our place for one of your Baby Lugers??

Gruss Gott All !

I keep reading these references to

Phoenix. I'm new and insignificant on

the forum,but I live in Scottsdale,which

is only the proverbial "stone's throw"

from Phoenix(assuming we're refering to

AZ- and that's the only one I'm aware of). What goes on in this territory that

has totally escaped my notice up to this

point in my life? Or is this a tightly

held secret which I have no business

asking about as yet? I can't help but

ask. Thanks! Mark

Hi Mark, And welcome to the forum, Ralph's WOL has alway been there, but the forum gettogether or gathering is a new phenomenon. Started by Ted and Marvin a little over a year ago, the gathering is probably well on its way to becomming an annual event. Because of the improvements and heightened activity on the forum (thanks to DOK, John D.,& John S.)we have made an attempt to take forum interaction to a new level....and that quest simply consists of forum members meeting to enjoy their common shared interest.....and that is "anything to do with Lugers"! What better place to meet then Ralph's world of Lugers! I can honestly say without reservation that this first annual (?) meeting was successful beyond anyones expectations.....It is so much fun, that time literally flew by!! As you become more familier with the forum you'll probably write or get to know most of the characters on this site....and then you'll understand how this is taking shape, it's a good mix! till...later...G.T.

Gruss Gott,G.T. !

Thanks for giving me a cluein on the

WOL gettogether. I apreciate all the info. I've been priveliged to receive

from various Forum members. I always

feel a twee bit guilty about asking questions since I don't know the answers to any someone else may have, but I guess

I'll never learn anything by hiding my

ignorance! Thanks again to you and your

fellow travelers!

Mark, Ralph Shattuck is a big Luger dealer in the US. He has been active for at least 50 years. He travels all over the country hand picking prime quality Lugers and sells them from his residence and business in Phoenix. Several of us have visited him and been luck enough to purchase some nice Lugers. He is a strong promoter of Luger collecting and research. We are lucky enough to have Frank Manders on our Board of Directors. Frank and Ralph are close friends and Frank managed to work out the details of the visit and Ralph and Nancy were gracious enough to roll out the red carpet for us. They are just super. Ralph has a web site with contact information and more info on where and how you can get a hold of him and see or buy Lugers. He travels a lot buying weapons so catching him sometimes takes a while, but dont give up, it is worth the effort. DOK our esteemed Web Master will be posting pictures of our little get together probably sometime this weekend so you can see a little more of the World Of Lugers. It is like going to Luger heaven! He has over 1600 Lugers in his place and it is a combination of a breath taking spectacle

and an adrenaline rush you have to experience to believe. I am always exhausted after a few hours there. It is that exciting. Ralph is a great person and really makes you feel at home there. I have been lucky enough to go see him three times, and hopefully if allowed I may try and go once or twice a year if time and schedules permit. I think the Luger forum visit was very good for him and gave him a little boost to. Ralph knows much of the other dealers, been to all the same gun shows time and time again. I think the exhuberence of all those new faces beaming with excitement of seeing all those pristine Lugers in his collection did him a world of good. For that I am grateful as he is a dear friend to me. This meeting was a win win for everybody! I think that is why is was so sucessful, but it surprised even me on how really well it did go and what everybody got out of it! I can't wait to go back......to the WORLD OF LUGERS!! It was fantastic!!

Gruss Gott,Ted!

Thanks for the detailed overview of

WOL. I can't believe nobody in this

town bothered to mention such a renound

establishment to me when I was making local inquiries into the availability

of prime quality Lugers. But then again,

I was making these very queries at gun

stores in and around town.I guess I shouldn't expect them to point me in a direction which leads away from their doors!

I checked out the web site for WOL.

It was a beautiful thing to be able to behold the photos of magnificent arms,

but I have to admit I almost suffered

cardiac arrest when I noted the asking

price on them.Granted,I was viewing one

of a kind or extremely limited editions,

but my meager existence doesn't allow

such extravagence on my part.Too bad!!

If it did I'd be there in a flash!!!!

At least I have some visions to fill my

dreams tonight!

Tschuss! Mark
