Sounds like a Russian capture pistol? The magazine may have been a former police issued magazine. Photos are everything!!

If you're concerned about values, these RC Lugers recently sold for somewhere in the $500 range.

Where are all these $500 Lugers I keep hearing about??? I found one once, and after about $150 more put into it it was actually a working Luger. I don't believe I have seen a complete, working Luger, in the past 5 years or so, for less than $700.

You may have a point. Inflation may have creeped up on us, as I can't rememberr anything in that range lately either.
Anyone else have a source for $500 Lugers? dju |

The most recent RC Lugers from R-Guns were priced at $699-799 a year ago. A few years earlier they were in the $500 range. These are, of course, dealer prices.
A quick search found some postings referencing purchases for some at lower prices... Here's one from December 2011 referencing a pawn shop purchase for $400... Marc

If they are confident on what they are selling, then they won't mind you taking photos so that the forum can tell you what a great deal it is...

Are the plastic grips black or brown? Do they have a small circle near the top on each grip?

I went to shop again with my good magnifier and light here is what it is, 1939 42 marked Mauser, 2 eagles over 655, eagle over swastika. eagle on front toggle brown plastic grips. partial circle x on front front of trigger guard. no size data on barrel.proof of crown over N under barrel, here is comes import marks from a company p enn spatzen or something like that had dealer look it up they did rework on lugers including blueing and other required fixes. sorry cant remember full name pretty sure they were out of pennsylvania though. barrel and reciever slightly different colors lloks like 1950 east german proof on barrel.

You have an East German, Russian capture luger. The Crown over N on the barrel would indicate a civilian proof, not consistent with the balance of the military pistol.
On its best day, with the wind behind it, I would not pay over $600-$700 for this "shooter" grade pistol. What is the shop asking for it? |
