I would like to get an evaluation please
Hopefully I can get pics to upload. I have a 1939 code 42 that I may need to sell soon. this was a bring back from my grandfather. I believe it is all matching but am not comfortable taking it apart to verify the internal parts. I have the properly dated holster as well and the loading tool marked 42. My grandfather has never talked about the war or how he came to possess this Luger. I sent a PM to one of our members a while ago and afterwords thought it may not have been appropriate. I am sorry if that is the case. anyway here are some pics [maybe]

A good, solid, honest rig. The finish condition issues detract somewhat but if the gun is truly all matching, I would not hesitate to ask somewhere in the $1,600 range for it.

Thanks alanint. it was stored in the holster until I got it. That is probably where the finish issues come from.

You appear to have a matching magazine?

no matching mag. one is only a few numbers off but the suffix is different as well. all numbers I can see match. I sent a pm to another member who I believe lives nearby and asked if he would help me break it down and check the internals. I posted this Luger a few years back. It was brought back by my grandfather and so far as he knows nothing has been done to it. I may have to sell it to take care of another matter. [don't want to but.....] Hopefully this member will give me a call and verify what I suspect to be true. I don't want to advertize it as all matching if it isn't. I am just trying to get a realistic value for the rig. I have several other guns that will be sold as well if needed. a couple of Remington 1100's a black powder muzzle loader, and a large caliber handgun. I don't know if site policy will allow them to be listed here.

There are lots of good disassembly videos on YouTube. Just search "Luger disassembly".
I don't think the Mod's would object if your for sale add also contained non- Lugers but read the rules about posting to be sure. dju |
