1921 Army with unit markings - times 2
At Allentown, this walked in and I bought it from a friend. It actually has a broken, but matching take down lever, but I had one that fit and worked fine in my stash and put the matching one aside. its bore is very nice, which is a bit surprising.
It started as a 1921 with appropriate acceptance markings. It was provisionally marked on the rear Then it received an army unit marking a few years later Overall it is a 5 footer, nice looking from that distance, not so nice for a close up. But he pointed it out to me since he knows I like Weimar and the price was $400 (without a wood based magazine that I added) It really has all of its matching parts, the grips are blank but period, the firing pin is blank as is the hold-open, but period for them and all other parts match; interesting enough, it served late enough to require an oversized toggle rear pin that received the #44 - which of course was not required till mid 1930's.

was afraid of that, I copied and pasted from Jan's forum, but they showed to me, so thought, hmm, maybe it does work.
I knew better and if folks aren't a member of Jan's. but I'm tired |
