Default Slide Movement

Hi All...new to the assembly, so have a question. When I assemble the top slide, is it normal for it to slide front to back by about 1/3"? When it slides back, the round knobs hit the frame. When the safety is engaged, it holds firm.

The first pic shows it moved forward, and then it slides back enough where the know hits the frame. With the safety on, there is no movement.

Just wanted to make sure I re-assembled correctly.

Thanks

No, might be that the 'S' lever did not catch onto the recoil link

I hold it upside down and watch as it travels over the link, then run it back while normal up/down and it should catch.

there are also youtubes on the net that show how to strip and put back together - I think there are links in the technical section

In case you're wondering why it does not slide back when the eafety is engaged, this pistol has the early, un-relieved sear, which is blocked by the safety bar that rises into view from inside the frame when the safety lever is lowered.
