Yes, but free shipping, pay with Paypal, and get Ebay's money back guarantee? It's a Luger collector's dream!

Can he do that?! I thought frames couldn't be sold on ebay unless they were antiques!

The frame CAN NOT be sold like this, and I'm sure it will be pulled off in short order. It needs to go from FFL to FFL, as it's been considered a firearm by BATF. Somebody is playing with fire, and WILL get a visit from the alphabet agency.

WHAT frame? The Ebay link is to as complete, upper Luger assembly! Although capable of firing a shot, legally, this is just an upper and can be sold as it is shown.

Yes, I imagine it will get yanked. I cannot figure out eBay though ... you can buy/sell gun parts but not empty reloading brass? I imagine it's just ignorance ... kind of like the woman representative in Washington that said it would be ok to grandfather high capacity mags as once they were shot they would be "used up" so they would quickly be non-existent anyway.

It will only get yanked by eBay if someone rats him out. Ed it correct, the price is way too high. This gun has been refinished, but apparently done very well. The seller would probably also violate the law by mailing it to the lucky buyer... sheesh...

Actually, what federal law would be broken by selling or buying it on ebay?
As long as the buyer provides a FFL, they could still use buy it now and buy it. Its against ebay policies, which is not any form of a law. If it was cheap, I would have bought it, sent the guy my C&R and logged it in, completely legal

Ed,
We can't do that up here in NYS. By state Police rules, it would need to be FFL to FFL only with a transfer on each end. Seller would have to ship through a dealer to any dealer in NY. I also agree--waaay over-priced!

Uppers are no problem as we all know. In some states (AZ comes to mind) even receivers (frames) CAN be sold private party to private party either FTF, or even through the mail (within the same state) without ANY paperwork. Interstate transaction is still required to ship to FFl (providing the receiving FFL will accept transfer from the private party), or FFL to FFL with full documentation ( + 4473). Last weekend I visited a gun show in CA. AR clone uppers GALORE. 80% lower receivers also. People were buying them like candy, and one could hardly approach the tables to see what's on it. CROWDED. Saw nice "presentation/commemorative" Arty for 7K. Few other Lugers, all overpriced. Too much hassle to buy in CA, that has one of the most restrictive gun laws in the nation. |

Yea, I had an 8 round MGC model Trommelmag yanked...because it LOOKED like a high capacity mag! Just depends on which '20 something' monitor is watching listings that day. He did call to tell me but there was no reasoning, nor any explanation, with this 'young' man.
