first luger
i just bought my first luger and i couldn't be happier.I'm not into the collecting aspect of them...yet, but i am curious to know more about my gun.I have an all matching 42 byf serial 7688 unfortunatly it has an import mark, but like i said i didn't want a collector's gun.I was wondering what holster with what markings would be correct for this gun also what markings should the loading tool have?Is there anyway to find out where the pistol was issued to as in an area or individuals name or even just which branch of service. And can anyone suggest a book that would cover these questions and more thanks for any help you can give this novice.GARY R.

Re: first luger
Gary, A nice original Nazi era holster & eagle/135 mag loading tool will probably cost you as much as the recently imported 42/BYF PO8. I'd suggest getting a new repro holster with EG loading tool for around $50. Many of us carry these in stock. Tom

Re: first luger
Gary,
I agree with Tom on buying the repro holster and the EG tool! You will have a nice looking rig, can wear into the woods or range and not worry about hurting the holster. Holsters are getting ridiculous in price and to costly to use anymore. Tom has some good repro holsters and the EG tools are excellent. marvin |
