Default 1917 Artillery

I'm not a big poster, but I must say I enjoy reading and you guys know your topic. I have a 1917 Artillery with the 1920 overstamp which I believe was done to prevent theft from the govt during the Weimar period when they were paying people to turn in guns. It is all matched, about 90% with little straw. It has the three Imperial proofs on the right with the Reichadler as #4 in the lineup. Another on the left toggle and one on the bottom of the barrel near the serial number. Going through Still' book it seems to have all the right markings in all the right places. But he says on page 102 the serial number range goes up to only 4884. Mine is 7941 m. Do I have something unusual here? Thanks Michael
